It's a wonderful place to enjoy your dinner and relax your mind.
Extremely overrated, small potions. The food was less than average. I would not recommend this place.
I am not sure but this place is awesome and worth it
I don't think so always went for lunch. If you go for lunch you won't be disappointed
Passing through Morgan City, Louisiana and stopped for a spot of lunch at Rita Mae's Kitchen. Ordered a po-boy that was half fried shrimp and half fried oysters with a side of fries. Absolutely Delicious. Good friendly service on top of the good satisfying food.
First customers of the day. Ordered Pot Roast w/rice and gravy, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo. And a Crab Cake as recommended by waitress. Crab Cake and Pot Roast came out long before the Gumbo. All food was hot and good flavor. The place is an old house with a LOT of character. Food to price ratio was fair. Waitress and cook were extremely nice and accommodating. It was an enjoyable experience and adventure for us. We will probably stop again at some point.
Found this gem on trip advisor. I would highly recommend it. Depending what you order the prices are incredibly reasonable. Service was very good.
Read amaz got the best food in town I love eating a plate lunches go read a may go read May
Good southern comfort food. Cooked with love.
If I could give more stars I would. 1st time ever at this cozy friendly place. The waitress was awesome and super sweet and patient. Not to mention the food was fresh. The blackberry cobbler was just like my grandmother use to make when I was a kid.
Stopped by on a road trip through Louisiana, excellent! Seafood gumbo & fried shrimp was best we’ve had in a long time.
Delicious, home cooked food. Equivalent to what My grandparents made. Good food, moderately friendly staff, Decent prices. I go back occasionally
Haven’t had a let down and do not expect one!! Customer service is A-1 the food even better and that rum sauce 😋Update 4/28/20This establishment STILL doesn’t disappoint 😋 love it I’m full with plenty more remaining. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Loved the food! Had the lunch special, chicken and sausage gumbo with 1/2 shrimp po boy.The place was super cozy and had some nice decor around with local restaurant awards plaques. If you’re in town you have to check it out!
The food is so so good
Stopped in during an afternoon visit to Morgan City. The restaurant is located in an old house, so seating is limited when they are busy but the food is excellent and worth the wait. I tried the fried crab cake burger and the seafood gumbo. The flavor of the fried crab cake burger was great. The seafood gumbo was different than most that I've had before so I enjoyed the unique taste. I will definitely plan to stop by in the next time I am in Morgan City.
Fantastic food and service. The fried chicken was amazing, as were all the desserts (tried them all, with help).
Good service. Nice presentation. Interesting place. Breaded pork chop was tough. Canned corn. Probably won’t try again
Food wasn't that good but the grilled shrimp really brought it up 1 star!
Food was great! And the staff was friendly and welcoming! It was a fantastic stop during my 3200mi. cross country trip from Oregon to Florida and will always be remembered fondly!!!
Great food and great service, the shrimp were amazing
Very quaint local Cajun restaurant. Had the shrimp Po boy and gumbo. Wonderful taste. Great service.
Food was outstanding today's special was baked ham potato salad green beans with new potatoes and onion and toast was it good a definite must try and the bread pudding was over the top.... The best
Really delicious food. It’s obviously homemade from scratch and possibly the best Cajun food I’ve ever had. Really worth stopping in to this place! It’s on my list for places now.
Come hungry...get ready for a treat. The whiteboard lists the daily specials. I enjoyed the crawfish ettouffee today, plenty of crawfish and just enough spice to keep you coming back for more. Plate was dressed with potato salad, corn and a slightly sweet biscuit (I'm still thinking about that biscuit). Jealous of the locals that get to enjoy this gem daily. Must try.
Very good food gumbo was spot on. Nice little spin on a old time original creole home style B&B. Was a little pricey for lunch menu but not outrageous. If in Morgan City well worth the stop. Will be back.
The food is awesome. Go every time were in Morgan City
Very good food, good portion size, will be back again
Hidden gem in Morgan City. The staff was friendly and the gumbo is outstanding. I will be a return customer for sure.
Excellent Gumbo. We had an excellent meal.
We stopped here for a late lunch on Friday. I highly recommend Rita Mae's Kitchen. The food was delicious. If you are in the area, you must stop here for a good home cooked meal.
Absolutely made with love!
We were celebrating my wife's birthday this weekend, and I searched for a soul food kitchen. Rita Mae's Kitchen came up, so we decided to visit. What a great little place if you want down home cooking. Our server was polite and knowledgable about the menu. She also showed us their specials of the day. The food was so good. Plus they had peanut butter fudge and pecan pralines!! Can you believe it!? This is definitely a place to visit, if you're in the area.
Always fantastic home cooking and friendly service.
Food was good. Service was ok.
Best southern food ever! Everything here is very tasty and definitely made with love!
A piece of heaven, home cooked food...best fried chicken ever...and Rita Mae's seafood platter was delicious....
Nice little hometown business
Awesome place and the friendliest staff! I had the crab cakes everytime! They are amazing. Just wish I lived closer.
Great food and cool atmosphere with friendly service doesn't get much better!!
This is a nice homestyle restaurant. It looks like it is part of home. Weren't sure what to expect, but the food quality was good, even though it seems you would have gotten a little more for the price. The item that was really good was some type of grilled shrimp. Oh my, they were seasoned so right. Just didn't get enough of them.
One of the best homemade burgers I've ever had. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
Great place to eat. Fried Catfish and Crayfish Etouffee...
Great food and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our visit.
Nothing like a Rita Mae Burger!!!? 🍽️🍔🍔🍔🍔 Thanks MIKE!!!
I go for the seafood gumbo. Expensive, but it is the best I've ever tasted. I come back year after year. The gumbo doesn't skimp on the seafood either.
A great place to experience local flavor. The building was unique. All the food was great. The gumbo could have been a little thicker...but actually has lump crabmeat as they said. Got there about 11:30am and by 12:30 it was packed. Go early
It was so cozy and food was yummy!
Catfish Po-boy, crawfish ettoffee. Bowl of Seafood Gumbo for comparison to other places The atmosphere is charming and you can picture Ms Rita cooking up these dishes for her family and guest from years gone by. Gosh. Just lovely. Cozy. Tasted outstanding. Real authentic food from the area.
The food was excellent!! The meatloaf is divine!! The best sweet potato pie I ever ate. The waitress was fast and efficient!!
The food is always so good and fresh! It’s always homemade, and you can tell in the quality!
Greatest crab hamburger.
Came here for dinner and wasn't disappointed. Had the crawfish ettouffe with a baked potato and corn bread. Everything was delicious. The sweet tea was probably the best I've ever had in a restaurant. Definitely a place to go for some home cooked food.
Great old fashioned cafe and the food is excellent. However, the place is dirty.
